矯正歯科

美しくきれいに揃った歯並びの方は笑顔がすてきですね。さらに上下の歯の噛み合わせがよい状態であれば、しっかり噛めて歯のお手入れもしやすく、発音もはっきりして良いことづくめです。しかし生来自然に歯並びがきれいであることは、顎が小さくなって来ている現代人にとっては珍しいことかもしれません。小さい頃にちゃんと矯正しておけばよかった、大人になって今さら歯並びを治すことなんて難しいに違いないと思われている方は多いのではないでしょうか。実は健康であれば歯列矯正はいつでも可能です。成長期の子供の方が歯が動きやすい傾向はありますが、近年の矯正技術の進歩もあり、大人になっても様々な方法で、歯並びや噛み合わせを改善することができるようになっています。 A person with a beautifully aligned set of teeth has a beautiful smile.   当クリニックの小笠原法子矯正担当医は日本矯正歯科学会認定医で咬合機能矯正学を修得した専門医です。矯正治療をされる方のご事情（お仕事、お住まい、学校等の環境の変化や人生設計など）を伺い、矯正に関わる様々な側面を説明しご同意いただた上で、一緒にゴールを目指す診療を心がけています。 Our orthodontist, Dr. Noriko Ogasawara, is certified by the Japanese Orthodontic Association and a specialist in orthodontics of occlusal function. 矯正歯科治療に伴う一般的なリスクや副作用について Common risks and side effects associated with orthodontic treatment

1. 矯正歯科装置を付けた後しばらくは違和感、不快感、痛みなどが生じることがありますが、一般的には数日間～1、2週間で慣れてきます。 Discomfort, discomfort, and pain may occur for some time after the orthodontic appliance is placed, but generally the patient will become accustomed to it within a few days to a week or two.
2. 歯の動き方には個人差があり、予想された治療期間が延長する可能性があります。 Tooth movement varies from person to person and may extend the expected treatment period.
3. 矯正歯科装置の使用状況、顎間ゴムの使用状況、定期的な通院など、矯正歯科治療には患者さんの協力が必要であり、それらが治療結果や治療期間に影響します。 Orthodontic treatment requires the patient's cooperation in the use of orthodontic appliances, intermaxillary rubber, and regular visits to the orthodontic clinic, all of which affect the outcome and duration of treatment.
4. 治療中は矯正歯科装置が歯の表面に付いているため食物が溜りやすく、また歯が磨きにくくなるため、むし歯や歯周病が生じるリスクが高まります。したがってハミガキを適切に行い、お口の中を常に清潔に保ち、さらに、かかりつけ歯科医に定期的に受診することが大切です。 また、歯が動くと隠れていたむし歯があることが判明することもあります。 During treatment, the risk of tooth decay and gum disease increases because the orthodontic appliances are attached to the tooth surfaces, which can easily accumulate food and make it difficult to brush the teeth. Therefore, it is important to brush properly, keep your mouth clean, and visit your dentist regularly. In addition, tooth movement may reveal the presence of hidden carious teeth.
5. 歯を動かすことにより歯根が吸収して短くなることや歯肉がやせて下がることがあります。 Moving the teeth may cause the roots to absorb and shorten, or the gums to become thin and droop.
6. ごくまれに歯が骨と癒着していて歯が動かないことがあります。 In very rare cases, teeth may not move due to adhesions to the bone.
7. ごくまれに歯を動かすことで神経が障害を受けて壊死することがあります。 In very rare cases, nerve damage and necrosis may occur due to tooth movement.
8. 矯正歯科装置などにより金属等のアレルギー症状が出ることがあります。 Allergic symptoms to metals and other substances such as orthodontic appliances may occur.
9. 治療中に顎関節の痛み、音が鳴る、口が開けにくいなどの症状が生じることがあります。 During treatment, symptoms such as TMJ pain, noise, and difficulty opening the mouth may occur.
10. 治療の経過によっては当初予定していた治療計画を変更する可能性があります。 Depending on the course of treatment, the originally planned treatment plan may be changed.
11. 歯の形の修正や咬み合わせの微調整を行う可能性があります。 There is a possibility of correcting the shape of the teeth and fine-tuning the bite.
12. 矯正歯科装置を誤飲する可能性があります。 There is a possibility of accidental ingestion of orthodontic appliances.
13. 矯正歯科装置を外す際にエナメル質に微小な亀裂が入る可能性や、かぶせ物（補綴物）の一部が破損する可能性があります。 Minute cracks in the enamel may occur when removing orthodontic appliances, and some coverings (prosthetics) may be damaged.
14. 動的治療が終了し装置が外れた後に現在の咬み合わせに合った状態のかぶせ物（補綴物）やむし歯の治療（修復物）などをやりなおす必要性が生じる可能性があります。 After the dynamic treatment is completed and the device is removed, it may be necessary to re-cover the current bite with a new prosthesis or carious tooth treatment (restoration).
15. 動的治療が終了し装置が外れた後に保定装置を指示通り使用しないと、歯並びや、咬み合せの「後戻り」が生じる可能性があります。 After dynamic treatment is completed and the appliance is removed, if the retention appliance is not used as instructed, there is a possibility of “backsliding” in the alignment of the teeth and bite.
16. あごの成長発育により咬み合せや歯並びが変化する可能性があります。 Growth and development of the jaw may change the bite and alignment of the teeth.
17. 治療後に親知らずの影響で歯並びや咬み合せに変化が生じる可能性があります。また、加齢や歯周病などにより歯並びや咬み合せが変化することがあります。 After treatment, wisdom teeth may cause changes in tooth alignment and bite. Aging and periodontal disease may also cause changes in tooth alignment and bite.
18. 矯正歯科治療は一度始めると元の状態に戻すことは難しくなります。 Once orthodontic treatment has begun, it is difficult to restore the original condition.
